United Nations University accepting proposals for fellowship programme; topics of interest include ABS, CBD, Traditional Knowledge

The closing date for applications is 31 March 2009. 8-10 fellowships wil be awarded in the 2009 programme.  There are 7 research programmes accepting applications in 2009 – the third of which is called the “Biodiplomacy Initiative”  and invites research proposals:

“on the following broad topics:

* Access to Genetic Resources and Benefit Sharing (ABS) and the International ABS Regime
* Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)
* The Regulation of Biotechnology
* Payment for Environmental Services provided by Biodiversity (particularly forest biodiversity)
* Climate Change and Biodiversity, Indigenous issues
* Protection and Use of Traditional knowledge”
